CeNTech researcher Prof. Pernice and his colleagues from Oxford and Exeter (UK) developed a light-based hardware which can store and process information in a similar way to the human brain. The scientists managed to produce a chip containing network of artificial neurons that works with light and can imitate the behaviour of neurons and their synapses. The study was published in the NATURE journal.
