CeNTech receives award 'Ort des Fortschritts' (site of progress)

Today as part of the initiative 'Fortschritt NRW' (progress NRW) North Rhine-Westphalian science minister Svenja Schulze decorates CeNTech with the award 'Ort des Fortschritts'. Since the inauguration in 2003 scientists and companies at CeNTech have reached outstanding achievements in the field of nano- analytics and nano- materials to the benefit for science and society.

Best conditions for top research: CeNTech is expanding

Right next to the CeNTech a new research building, named CeNTech II, is being constructed, providing best conditions for excellent research to approximately 40 nano scientists of the University of Münster. The physical, chemical and biological labs will offer 1200 square meters of space for ambitious nanotechnological demands. During the groundbreaking ceremony representatives from the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Research, the University of Münster and the City of Münster were present. The project is financed with funds from the Federal and the State Government.

The Federal Research Minister Annette Schavan visits the CeNTech

Today the Federal Research Minister Annette Schavan visited the Center for Nanotechnology (CeNTech) in Münster. For the minister the stopover at the CeNTech was of a particular importance as it had been her ministry that gave the starting signal for the foundation of CeNTech in the year 2000.The Center was opened in 2003 and employs about 100 people who contribute to the optimization of the transfer and exchange between nanotechnological science and industry. Until today the CeNTech has developed into a research center of excellence that is known beyond the federal borders.
